CEARCH is a research, grantmaking & philanthropic advisory organization.

Research

We focus on estimating a cause area’s cost-effectiveness using quantitative modelling, while gathering evidence from the scientific literature, expert interviews, and beneficiary surveys.

One cause area that our research has identified as especially promising is health policy, because policy allows for large-scale impact (since policy has national reach), and low cost per capita (since we leverage less impactful government spending).

Our research on salt reduction policy & soda taxes in particular has been pathbreaking, with other grantmakers such as GiveWell & Charity Entrepreneurship subsequently also recommending them as high-impact ideas worth funding.

Beyond our own independent research, we have historically also accepted some research commissions from other grantmakers & philanthropists.
