Effective Philanthropy
We are a research and grantmaking organization – we find and fund high-impact philanthropic ideas.
Philosophy
We prioritize impact above all – saving and improving lives as much as possible. In practice, that means we prioritize giving to low and middle-income countries – where disease and poverty are much more prevalent, yet also avertable at little cost.
Research
We use quantitative modelling, literature reviews, expert interviews, and beneficiary surveys to rigorously identify high impact causes worth supporting. Our research on salt reduction policy in particular has been pathbreaking, with other grantmakers like GiveWell subsequently also finding the area to be highly promising.
Partners
We collaborate with charity incubators to seed new high impact charities. We also provide grants to existing high impact charities, both through our own grantmaking, and by advising other grantmakers & HNWIs; our partners include both donors aligned with the evidence-based philanthropy movement, and more traditional philanthropists in the Asia-Pacific.
